It was an explosive night for a 15-year-old and 16-year-old boy who were throwing fireworks out of the window of a moving car near Papa John’s on Richmond Highway shortly after 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, according to investigators.

Police say that responding members of the sheriff's office were alerted to the suspect vehicle and told by tipsters that it was traveling along Richmond Highway with the teens setting off the explosives and throwing them at other vehicles.

Deputies ultimately tracked down the vehicle in the parking lot of Papa Johns Pizza at 2769 Richmond Highway. Inside they found the two teens and several boxes of fireworks.

No charges were announced by the sheriff’s office, as they turned the teens over to their parents to determine what discipline is coming for the underage grinches.
